A 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit Afghanistan Sunday, around 22 kilometres south-south-west of Ishkashim district in Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province, according to the US Geological Survey, dpa reported. Tremors were felt in Kabul and across the country, as well as in Pakistan and India. Residents of the capital Kabul fled their homes, many of them fearful after a major 7.5-magnitude earthquake late last month.
