German unemployment fell in May as the arrival of summer weather marked a pick up in hiring in Europe's biggest economy, bringing the jobless rate down to 5.6 per cent, dpa reported. Jobless queues in the nation contracted for the eighth consecutive month in May, declining by a more-than-forecast seasonally adjusted 9,000 to 2.536 million, the Federal Labour Agency said.
