Minister of Energy and Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih hailed the visit by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the eastern region and his inauguration of a package of unprecedented projects. In a press conference held at the headquarters of Saudi Aramco company in Dhahran on Sunday evening, Al-Falih that these projects cover all aspects of development and form a solid base for achieving the ambitious vision (2030). He added that this base includes the sectors of energy, industry, economy and mining. Al-Falih stated that the production capacity of the oil fields to be inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is nearly 3 million barrels, noting that oil production of the kingdom reaches up to 12.5 million barrels per day. He pointed out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques will inaugurate gas projects in addition to other projects. In answers to reporters' questions, Al-Falih said that Aramco's size of investments in the projects to be inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, amounts to 160 billion riyals, noting that construction work of the marine industry will begin in 2018 and will enter production in 2022.
