Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan region, inaugurated here today 'Jazan Economic Forum 2015 ' entitled 'Investment partnerships'. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, a number of ministers, and 500 local and global economic officials. The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi delivered a speech in which he highlighted progress of Jazan Economic City project and the development vision, strategic and economic thinking behind projects of cities and industrial complexes, including the economic city project in Jazan. The minister noted that the Economic City in Jazan includes integrated facilities in the petroleum and petrochemical field and the field of mining. The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources added that the integrated project for the production of titanium metal, through the exploitation of raw Alumina, which is available in the region, all the way to the final manufacturing products of titanium and metal alloys used in various applications, inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as desalination, petrochemical industries, production of aircraft spare parts, and organ transplantation, medical supplies and many others. There is also another project, within the titanium project; it is the special steel plant at a capacity of (200,000) tons per year. He noted the linking of the mining and oil sectors to complete each other in large economic projects, rather than dependence only on the export, pointing out that the decision to establish an advanced petroleum refinery in Jazan, led to the establishment of an economic city, global and huge port, a large plant to generate electricity and multiple mining and petrochemical industries. The Jazan refinery is one of three large refineries of petroleum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in east, west and south regions. Minister Al-Naimi pointed to the finding of good opportunities for cooperation between the State and its various apparatuses and the private sector, since the State takes the initiative for long-term strategic projects with necessary infrastructure of roads, electricity, water, etc., and then the private sector which takes its role in the establishment of large, medium and small enterprises as well as the service sector. The private sector should grow with the growth of the Kingdom and to be rather a sector of initiative. Moreover, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stressed the importance of education, training and requalification as one of the main reasons for growth and development. He concluded by saying, 'I have no doubt, that the future of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will be prosperous in all regions, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior.'
