Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation today denounced the terror attack on a military base in the Malian city of Nambala, central Mali, which took place yesterday, killing 17 soldiers and injuring 35 others. In a statement, the Secretary General of OIC Iyad bin Amin Madani expressed upset of the continuing assault on UN peace-keeping forces and UN officials in Mali who work in extraordinary circumstances to provide safe environment to implement Algeria Arrangement for Peace and Reconciliation in the central African country, Madani added. He conveyed to the government and people of Mali and the families of the victims his condolence on the dead and quick recovery for the injured, confirming the basic position of OIC in combating terrorism as an enemy of humanity.
