The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani condemned the suicide attack on 15th April 2015 on a UN peace keepers camp of MINUSMA in Ansongo, northern Mali, resulting in the death of three civilians and the injuring of over a dozen people including nine peace keepers from the Republic of Niger. Madani denounced the attack targeting these soldiers of peace; and conveyed his deep sympathy over the loss of life. He praised the sacrifices of the peace keepers to stabilize Mali and restore security to its Northern region. The Secretary General appealed to all Malian parties to be fully involved in the Algiers peace process; and to exert their utmost to move it forwards. Thus blocking violence and extremism, achieving security, stability, development for northern Mali; and attaining its involvement politically, administratively, culturally and socially in the Malian fabric, which finds its unity in its diversity.
