OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani has condemned most vigorously the attacks recently perpetrated in a number of towns in the Republic of Mali, particularly in Bamako, Kidal and Gao, with the resulting losses in human lives both among the civilians and the peace soldiers of MINUSMA. The Secretary General urgently called on the perpetrators to weigh the degree of their responsibility in the senseless sufferings meted upon so many innocent families and to renounce any action that is susceptible to comprise the serenity of the Malian people. The Secretary General articulated his indignation as well as that of the OIC in the face of the acts perpetrated by individuals whose veiled objective is to undermine the peace process already engaged for the return of stability in Mali. He also made a point of extending his condolences to the Malian people and authorities and to the parents of the victims in particular. Lastly, the Secretary General recommended the return to the inter-Malian dialogue to achieve a solution in favor of peace, reconciliation and stability in Mali.
