The Saudi Fund for Development signed in the Jordanian capital Amman today three agreements to finance projects in Jordan. The first agreement is a grant agreement of $ 65 million to finance the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the desert road (R15). The second is a framework agreement to grant $ 100 million as contribution by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support priority development projects in the Jordanian communities hosting Syrian refugees. The third is a soft loan guarantee agreement worth $ 53.3 million to finance the fourth steam-unit project in "Samra electric power plant." The first two agreements were signed by Eng. Yousef Ibrahim Al-Bassam, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Saudi Fund for Development and Jordanian Minister of Planning Imad Fakhoury. The third agreement was signed by the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Saudi Fund Development and Jordanian Finance Minister Omar Malhas Jordanian. The Jordanian Minister of Planning expressed the Jordanian government's thanks for the Saudi support for Jordan to face the economic and social challenges. The total grants and loans provided by the kingdom to Jordan amounted to 6.98 billion riyals.
