AlQa'dah 25, 1436,September 09, 2015,SPA -- Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, met in Riyadh today with UN Secretary General envoy to Yemen Ismail Would Al-Sheikh Ahmed. During the meeting, they discussed the developments in Yemen, ways of reviving the peaceful political process on the bases of the GCC initiative, its executive mechanism, outcome of the national dialogue conference and UN Security Council resolution No. 2216. Al-Zayani confirmed during the meeting that the GCC member states support the strenuous efforts being exerted by the United Nations to achieve peace in Yemen, particularly the role the UN envoy is playing in this regard. The meeting was attended by a number of GCC senior officials.
