The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani received here today the envoy of Secretary General of the United Nations to the Republic of Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Yemen, and ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the GCC and the United Nations to intensify efforts to deliver humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people in all provinces. Moreover, the two sides stressed the importance of commitment to humanitarian truce announced by the coalition forces' command at the request of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen. They also discussed ways to push forward the peaceful political process on the basis of the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism as well as the outputs of the National Dialogue Conference and the United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2216.
