RIYADH — Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received UN Secretary General's envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, here on Monday. The two discussed the latest developments in Yemen, ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the GCC and UN in order to intensify efforts in delivering humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people in all provinces. The two sides stressed the importance of commitment to the humanitarian truce announced by the coalition forces at the request of Yemeni President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi. They also discussed ways to push forward the peaceful political process on the basis of the GCC initiative, its executive mechanism, the outcome of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Security Council Resolution No. 2216. – SPA
