At least 25 people, mainly civilians, were killed Wednesday in a suicide bomb explosion in northern Afghanistan, a government official said, according to dpa. "A suicide bomber detonated his explosives vest in a bazaar in Almar district," said Ahmad Javed Bedar, a governor's spokesman in the northern province of Faryab. Civilians and troops were among the casualties, and about 38 people were wounded, some critically, he said.
