At least 16 civilians died early Tuesday and 36 were injured after a suicide bomber blew himself up in northern Afghanistan, dpa quoted a provincial official as saying. "The bomber driving an auto rickshaw was wearing an explosive vest and detonated it in a crowded bazaar area in Maimana city," said Abdul Sattar Barez, deputy governor of Faryab province. He said all the victims were civilians on their way to work in the morning.
