The efforts by Organization of Islamic Cooperation to promote trade among member states raised trade value among the organization's countries to 778.75 billion dollars in 2013 compared to 751.68 billion dollars in 2012, up 3.60%. This news was stated by Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ambassador Hamid Obileiro in a statement today on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting of the General Assembly of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) held in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
