The Mayor of Jeddah, Dr. Hani bin Mohammed Abu Ras, has expressed his pleasure for Jeddah accession to the World Heritage List at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), considering it as a great achievement, thanks to care and attention paid to Jeddah by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince. This came on the occasion of registering historical Jeddah on the World Heritage List, after the approval of UNESCO World Heritage Committee in its 38th session currently being held in Qatar. It is noteworthy that Dr. Abu Ras headed the Saudi delegation to the Committee's meeting.
