General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met here today with Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE). During the meeting, they exchanged views on the future of energy at regional and international levels. Sheikh Mohamed and Yamani also reviewed the results of scientific studies and experiments in the field energy aimed to ensure new choices of more efficient, sustainable and environment-friendly energy resources, one of which is the sustainable and clean energy. Sheikh Mohamed affirmed that the UAE is looking forward to enhancing its cooperation with partners at regional and global levels to ensure all sources of energy; traditional, clean and renewable, and working on transferring knowledge in this field to all peoples and countries to achieve welfare and sustainable development. The meeting underscored the step taken by KACARE and Masdar by signing a strategic framework agreement, which would lead to cooperation, and unifying of efforts between the two countries through exchanging of expertise, information, benefiting from international experiences and developing them in the region to enhance energy security for all. For his part, Dr. Yamani expressed his satisfaction to cooperate with the UAE through Masdar, the leading and model institution in the region in the field of clean and renewable energy, saying "We are happy to exchange expertise and share experiences with Masdar." He commended the UAE development process in all fields, particularly in the clean energy field, describing it as a "source of pride."
