Prince Saud Al -Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against terrorism is steady and firm and based on Islamic Sharia from which the Kingdom derives its regulations prohibiting the shedding of blood of innocent people and terrorizing them. In a statement on the occasion of the organization of the Islamic University in Madinah on Tuesday the Second World Congress for Counter-Terrorism entitled " Intellectual reviews and practical solutions" to be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Saud said, "The Kingdom has been one of the first countries to condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, clarify this position at all international forums and declare its full readiness for concerted efforts with the international community to combat it, contribute to the definition of the phenomenon of terrorism and its impact on the world, cooperate to address its causes and uproot it, and achieve international stability and security. The Prince added, " The Kingdom has been one of the first countries that have contributed to the fight against terrorism at the local, regional and international arenas through the ratification of a large number of international agreements and treaties, participated in the search for discussing this phenomenon by hosting the International Conference on Counter-Terrorism held in Riyadh in February 2005 , which resulted in the establishment of the United Nations Centre for Counter-Terrorism, announced its donation of more than one hundred million dollars for this purpose, and hosted the second meeting of the Advisory Board of the United Nations Centre for Counter- terrorism in Jeddah in 2012 and the International Conference on the cooperation of the United Nations with the Centers for combating terrorism held in Riyadh in 2013. Prince Saud indicated that the Kingdom has recently issued a number of laws and regulations incriminating terrorism and organizations standing behind it.
