Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, was delivered on his behalf by Prince Dr. Turki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations in which he said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always confirmed its condemnation and denunciation of terrorism in all its forms, and its readiness to cooperate with all efforts to combat it for the support of international stability and security, adding that the Kingdom has taken in this area several measures and actions to combat this dangerous phenomenon at all internal, regional and international levels. He said that emanating from the Kingdom's interest and keenness on combating this phenomenon, it considers the fight against terrorism as a common international responsibility that requires unremitting and continuous efforts , and the adoption of the Global Strategy to combat terrorism by Member States of the United Nations Organization is an evidence that combating terrorism requires strengthening of coordination, cooperation and exchange of experiences between countries and relevant centers in all aspects of the fight against terrorism. He continued saying, "This matter was embodied in the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by calling for the establishment of an international center to combat terrorism under the umbrella of the United Nations which was adopted by the International Conference on Combating Terrorism in Riyadh 2005 and endorsed by many countries and international and regional organizations, which contributed to signing of the Convention on the establishment of the center and the inauguration of its works by the United Nations Secretary General during the seminar, which was held on September 19, 2011, as the first international center to combat this phenomenon under the umbrella of the United Nations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that that emanating from its belief in the importance of cooperation and contribution to the support of international efforts to combat terrorism, the Kingdom has provided financial support for the establishment of the center over the first three years by $ 10 million. He noted that the establishment of the International Center for combating terrorism under the umbrella of the United Nations is an evidence that combating terrorism requires to enhance coordination and cooperation and exchange of experiences between the countries and the centers, calling on the participants in the conference to cooperate with the center to take advantage of it. --More
