Presided over by its Deputy Speaker Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jeffery, the Shoura Council held its 27th ordinary session, demanding the Ministry of Education to reactivate Iqama regulations when female teachers are appointed to curb daily move to work sites and lessen risks arising from the phenomenon. In a press statement following the meeting, Dr. Fahad bin Mutad Al-Hamad, Assistant Speaker of the Council, said the meeting asked the Ministry of coordinate with the concerned authorities to tackle the situations of doctorate-holder female and male teachers. The Educational and Scientific Research Committee of the Shoura Council was also required to provide the Council in a future session with a detailed report on the outcome of King Abdullah Project for Developing the General Education and other developmental projects initiated by the Ministry. The Council adjourned discussions on this issue prior to continuing them in a future session. In a debate on the lack of required progress of economic cities, the Council asked the concerned committee to answer questions on why several economic cities have not yielded the projected outcome, with some members demanding the government's interference to salvage the economic cities through investment, on the reasons behind the hasty approval of economic cities before making sure of their economic feasibility. At the outset of the meeting, the Shoura Council approved the GCC unified system on the materials helping in depleting the ozone layer which was submitted by the Health and Environmental Affairs committee.
