The National Water Company (NWC) has confirmed that its strategic plans to uphold performance of the water and sanitation sector and the implementation of several projects in Makkah are going on according to the outputs of the general scheme and the timelines specified. It showed that these projects include the implementation of the main and sub lines of water and sanitation networks; repair and rehabilitation of the main lines and sub-networks, in addition to household water and sanitation connections. The company pointed out that the number of ongoing projects being implemented and finished in its bidding procedures for 2013 and 2014, stands at about 60 projects at a total cost of nearly 5.5 billion riyals. The NWC's efforts, in this regard, aim to raise the level of implementation and upgrade services of water and sanitation sectors and ensure the application of high quality standards in accordance with the general system of competition.
