RIYADH — Al-Nassr, a prominent Saudi Pro League club, announced on Wednesday the transfer of Ivorian midfielder Seko Fofana to French Ligue 1 side Rennes following the end of his loan spell at Al-Ettifaq. In a statement on its official account on the platform X, Al-Nassr said: "The management of Al-Nassr Club has finalized the sale of Seko Fofana's contract to Rennes." The club thanked the 29-year-old player for his contributions, without revealing further details of the deal. Rennes confirmed the signing of Fofana on a contract that will run until 2029, marking his return to Ligue 1. Fofana initially joined Al-Nassr in 2023 from French side Lens. He was loaned to Al-Ettifaq at the beginning of 2024 for six months and rejoined them on another one-year loan in August. Al-Ettifaq, under coach Steven Gerrard, also announced the termination of Fofana's loan deal. In a statement, the club said: "Al-Ettifaq announces the termination of Seko Fofana's loan spell from Al-Nassr during the last summer transfer window by mutual agreement."
