A California woman stands accused of killing four people, including three of her relatives, at the headquarters of a Northern California Indian tribe, police said Friday, according to dpa. Authorities said Cherie Rhoades, 44, opened fire during a tribal hearing Thursday afternoon at the Cedarville Rancheria Tribal office in Alturas, California. Rhoades is accused of killing her brother, 50-year-old Rurik Daniel Davis, her niece, 19-year-old Angel Moonstar Penn, and her nephew, 30-year-old Glenn Phillip Calonico, the Alturas Police Dept. confirmed to dpa Friday. Sheila Lynn Russo, 47, was also killed, according to police. Once Rhoades ran out of ammunition she attacked more people with a kitchen knife, authorities said. Two victims remained in hospital Friday, with one listed in critical condition. Rhoades was taken into custody at the scene police said. She was charged homicide, attempted murder, child endangerment and brandishing a weapon. Authorities said Rhoades was moved to an undisclosed facility for her safety.
