The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed that the 2nd International Conference for Donors to asupport the humanitarian situation in Syria represents an opportunity to alleviate the sufferings of the Syrian refugees with participation of states and regional and international funding institutions and organizations. In his speech before the conference, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who leads the Kingdom's delegation to the conference, said "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to provide support for the Syrian refugees with an aid worth $448 million, where about $260 million were already paid in collaboration with a number of institutions working in the relief field of people Syrian." He announced a continuation of the Kingdom's stance to alleviate the sufferings of the Syrian people through increasing available appropriations for allocation and spending on programs and projects for supporting the Syrian refugees, including $60 million dollars, bringing to $250 million the total available amount for disbursement during the coming period. Al-Assaf praised Kuwait's role in patronizing this conference in light of increasing flow of refugees and humanitarian challenges faced by the international community.
