Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance, said that the International Conference for Donors for Supporting the Syrian People is being held in Kuwait amid tragic circumstances in Syria due to the declared war upon them which led to displacement of a large number of the Syrian refugees into a number of neighboring countries. In his address to the conference, Al-Assaf, who led the Kingdom's delegation to the conference, pointed out the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced $345 million as Saudi assistance to the Syrian people. $125 million is paid in coordination with a number of the United Nations (U.N.) agencies. He disclosed that the aid included tents, food, medicines and medical supplies in addition to providing 2,500 ready houses. He added that $100 million is announced recently for in-kind humanitarian assistance. --More
