The Fourth News Agencies World Congress (IV-NAWC) under the theme "Re-formation of a News Agency in the 21st Century" was concluded here today at Ritz Carlton Hotel in presence of Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussain, President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and IV-NAWC, directors of the news agencies and officials of communication and information technology. During the three-day conference, which is was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), with participation of more than 70 news agencies and media outlets, discussed a number of important issues seeking to develop work and duties of the news agencies in order to live up to the expectations of the target audience. During five sessions, the conference discussed "new market products and services", "social media and other news digital platforms", "views of Arabic newscasters about news agencies", "capitalizing on new opportunities" and "how can news agencies support newspapers' future needs", with about 30 work papers including ideas and developed visions for duties and missions of the news agencies around the world in order to keep pace with the news agencies facing the challenges.
