The European Union's humanitarian aid chief has announced more financial assistance for the Philippines as she visited the worst-hit city of Tacloban. EU Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva said an additional 7 million euros (9.4 million dollars) had been allocated to help nearly 2 million people displaced by Typhoon Haiyan. "Today I am personally delivering a message of European solidarity," she said in a statement. "We are standing by all the victims with immediate, large-scale assistance."
