The first congress's discussions on the importance of revision of the world news agencies' work in a manner consistent with the era of modern information technology contributed to completing the discussion of news agencies' work in the town of Estepona, Spain, which hosted the second international conference of the agencies during the period from 24 to 28 October 2007, at an invitation from the Spanish Efe news Agency and the presence of 80 news agencies, in addition to media personalities dealing with news agencies. The second conference examined five themes which were: the safety of journalists, rights of access to and coverage of major sporting events and the role of FIFA in that aspect, how to cover the Olympic Games to be held in China, benefit of news agencies from modern technologies and trends in the media (the future of news agencies and their clients). The venue of the congress shifted from Europe to Latin America where Argentina hosted the events of the third congress of the news agencies in the world during the period from 19 to 24 October 2010, at an invitation from the Argentine national news agency Télam, and the presence of 87 news agencies from different continents in addition to 179 media personalities that are concerned with the work of news agencies. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the President of the Saudi Press Agency Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein participated in the work of this congress. The President of the Saudi Press Agency presented an invitation to organize the fourth international congress of news agencies in the city of Riyadh.
