AlQa'dah 2, 1434, Sep 8, 2013, SPA -- The Manama Dialogue Forum began here today which is organized by Institute of International and Social Studies in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani said that inter-GCC integration has reached an advanced stage which contributed in boosting the march of GCC-member States towards aspired future goals. Dr. Al-Zayani said that the accomplishments throughout the Council's history of more than thirty years continue thanks to the geographic, historical, cultural and religious bonds between the GCC-member countries in addition to unification of vision of common goal to help the GCC countries accomplish more remarkable achievements and boost mutual ties and integration. The GCC Secretary-General, as he was speaking at the 9th IISS Manama Dialogue, affirmed that the GCC countries' march forcefully and confidently proceeds in a spirit of unity and solidarity to accomplish the GCC strategic goals. Dr. Al-Zayani said that the GCC peoples nowadays feel unity and cohesion through present and future integration policies adopted by all GCC countries in order for a citizen from one GCC-member country to enjoy all rights like a citizen in another GCC-member country. The GCC Secretary General talked about Gulf integration in security affairs, stressing that security challenges facing GCC countries can be overcome by bolstering mutual cooperation and coordination between the GCC countries and peoples. Dr. Al-Zayani said that the GCC countries consider their security as an integral and inseparable whole and that any security threat to any of them is tantamount to threat to all of them. The GCC Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, added that the GCC countries aim to boost their joint military capabilities by boosting the Peninsula Shield Forces and integrating joint Air Defense capabilities and establishing the Regional Maritime Coordination Centre.
