Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani today called for developing a future GCC integrated strategy concerning water security. In a speech before the 10th Gulf Conference on Water opened in Doha earlier today, he said the strategy should be compatible with the current (available) data. The Secretary General pointed out that the GCC countries are fully aware of the challenges surrounding water. He said the GCC countries will witness during the next five years high economic growth which will result in increasing production and consumption. Al-Zayani stressed that the GCC countries have taken a series of measures on coordination and cooperation in the field of water.
