U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's donation of $ 100 million to support the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT). In a statement issued today by the U.S. Department of State, he said "this generous donation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to support the efforts of the joint institutions and the strengthening of international cooperation in the fight against terrorism." Kerry made clear that this generous donation will help the UN to implement its plans to combat terrorism, whereas UNCCT comes as a major component of the components of the fight against terrorism. He also pointed out that this donation will help build long-term capabilities the UN will need in the implementation of its efforts in the fight against global terrorism.
