The United State on Monday confirmed that it remains focused on strengthening the Syrian opposition, adding that the provided U.S. aid is consistent with foreign assistance laws. "Strengthening the opposition on the ground certainly remains our goal," State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said during the daily press briefing. "This is not about a military victory or a military solution. It is about moving towards a political solution," Psaki told reporters. "The United States is providing a broad range of assistance to the Syrian opposition, including nonlethal assistance, to its Supreme Military Council (SMC), such as vehicles, communications, equipment, medical supplies, in consultation with the SMC leadership," Psaki added.
