Awwal 16, 1432, April 20, 2011, SPA -- The United States said on Tuesday that it was establishing financial assistance for the opposition in Libya. State Department Spokesman Mark Toner said during his daily briefing that “There are other mechanisms being looked at in terms of nonlethal assistance to help out the opposition,” adding that the United States is providing “temporary financial mechanisms,” and “establishing contacts on the ground” to provide humanitarian assistance.
