Tropical Storm Cosme has formed in the Pacific southwest of Mexico and is expected to stay away from the country's coast. The storm's maximum sustained winds early Monday are near 40 mph (65 kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says some strengthening is expected and the storm could become a hurricane by Tuesday night or Wednesday. Cosme is centered about 435 miles (695 kilometers) south of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving northwest near 10 mph (17 kph), AP reported.
