Thirty-two people were injured in central Germany when a train collided with a truck at a rail crossing, police reported Saturday. The accident happened when the train, while crossing over a highway, somehow rode up onto the tractor-trailer of a moving company's truck early Saturday. Most of the injuries were passengers thrown about the train during the collision. The drivers of the truck and train suffered serious injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage by fire crews. Both were taken to hospital by helicopter. Three other passengers were also listed in serious condition. The rest suffered only minor injuries, dpa quoted police as saying. Police were still trying to clarify how the accident occurred. Although there are no gates separating the highway from train traffic, the crossing is marked.
