A man was killed today after a collision between a car and train travelling at 100 miles per hour on a level crossing near Norwich, police said. The Colchester to Norwich train collided with the silver Vauxhall Astra car at around 7:30 a.m. on an automatic level crossing near Swainsthorpe, Reuters quoted Norfolk police as saying. "There's one fatality in the car. There's no derailment and no injuries on the train," a police spokeswoman said. The train, which had 44 passengers on board, remained safe and upright, she added. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch will carry out inquiries.
