Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh met here today with European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral ties and the latest developments in the Middle East. Fule said new aid totaling 50 million euros will be allocated to Jordan, half of which will support Jordan's treasury to ease the burden the kingdom is shouldering as a result of hosting hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees. The meeting also focused on the situation in Syria, including efforts to arrive at a political solution that ends the violence and preserves Syria's unity. The two officials also reviewed efforts to revive peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Al-Quds as its capital.
