Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh met here today with Brazilian Special Envoy to the Middle East Cesario Melantonio. During the meeting, they discussed Jordanian-Brazilian ties and the latest developments in the Middle East, mainly the peace process as well as the Syrian crisis. The two officials reviewed efforts to push the peace process forward, stressing the need to resume Palestinian-Israeli negotiations that should lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. On Syria, Judeh and Melantonio highlighted the need to arrive at a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis that puts an end to bloodshed.
