The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, stressed the keenness of Saudi Electricity Company to support national industries through the purchase of national products specializing in the electrical industry, pointing out that the Company's purchases of local products last year amounted to more than SR 12 billion. In his opening speech at Saudi Forum for Indigenization of Electricity Equipment Industry organized by Saudi Electricity Company here today, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabia said that the national companies specialized in electrical industries have been keen on diversity of products that meet part of the needs of the Saudi Electricity Company that implements the expansion of major electrical projects, noting that national companies have also been keen to diversify their products to meet the domestic and external demands, especially in industries of cables, electrical transformers, cutout devices, electrical panels, and electricity towers. He pointed to the establishment of a large factory in the Kingdom by Siemens Company for the manufacture of big-size generators to meet the needs of the domestic market and export their products to the regional and international markets.
