U.S. stocks finished higher on Tuesday, pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average to a new record closing high. The dollar declined against the euro and the yen. Light sweet crude oil for May delivery fell to $94.05 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures fell to $1,584.90. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 59.98, or 0.4 percent, to 14,673.46. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 5.54, or 0.4 percent, to 1,568.61. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 15.61, or 0.5 percent, to 3,237.86.
