U.S. stocks finished lower on Monday, as concerns over Greece continued to weigh on the market. In world markets, European stocks ended lower, with the declines led by the CAC 40 in France falling 1.6 percent. Asian markets also ended lower, with the declines led by the Hang Seng in Hong Kong falling 1.7 percent. The U.S. dollar rose against the euro and fell against the yen. Light sweet crude oil for March delivery fell 78 cents to $98.78 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures fell $1.00 to $1,734.40 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 6.74, or 0.1 percent, to 12,653.72. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 3.32, or 0.3 percent, to 1,313.01. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell4.61, or 0.2 percent, to 2,811.94.
