Female Parliamentarians Committee of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) lauded the decision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud regarding appointment of 30 Saudi women in Majlis Al-Shura and participation of the woman in the municipal elections as voter and candidate in accordance with laws of Islamic Sharia. In his report within activities of 128th IPU General Assembly held in Quito, Canadian Senator Donnell Olivier, chairman of the committee, said that this decision came within the reforms made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to develop performance of the Kingdom's institutions. He hoped that the Saudi woman is to achieve a distinguished parliamentary performance. The Canadian Senator asked the participants in the meeting to stand and greet the participating delegation of Majlis Al-Shura.
