Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Tabuk Region and Chairman of Tourist Development Council in the region, patronized here Sunday evening in the presence of Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, the opening ceremony of the 6th Conference of Red Sea Antiquities and Heritage, Lessons of the Past and the Prospects for the Present and the Future ", organized by the Commission. They also opened an exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference on the heritage and history of the region. Addressing the five-day conference, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz expressed his pleasure to attend this ceremony in which experts, scientists and researchers in heritage and antiquities from more than 16 countries are taking part, noting that 24 scientific missions of Saudi and international experts are working in various Saudi heritage sites. He said that the Commission has managed with the participation of governmental agencies and the private sector to recover more than 16,000 pieces of antiquities from abroad and 3000 artifacts from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
