Britain's Heir Apparent Charles hailed a decision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud regarding appointment of 30 Saudi women as members in Majlis Al-Shura, stressing that it is an important step towards expanding national participation in decision making. This came during his meeting with Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura. At the outset of the reception, the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura welcomed Prince Charles and the accompanying delegation, stressing depth of relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom in all fields in addition to the parliamentary relations between Majlis Al-Shura and British Parliament. Then, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh briefed the Britain's Heir Apparent on the history of Majlis Al-Shura and its committees. For his part, Prince Charles lauded level of bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest and ways of enhancing them, particularly in the fields of parliament, health, social, culture and youth. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
