The Director General of Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein has stressed that the Agency has been assuming a pioneering information role through its keenness on training and qualifying employees of the governmental and private sectors on the basics and skills to deal with the media, in addition to training the staff of public relations and information on the skills in editing press news. In an address here yesterday at the opening of a course entitled "The principles of news editing" at SPA Training Center, organized by the Agency in cooperation with the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Commission to train a number of the Commission's staff on the skills and fundamentals of news editing, Al-Hussein said, "The vital and important role played by the Commission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia requires the presence of qualified cadres to communicate with the society through the mass media." The SPA Director General pointed out that 17 trainees from the Commission's employees are participating in the five-day course aiming to introduce participants to the news editing, elements, forms and tools used to collect information, in addition to upgrading the skills of editors , and developing their abilities in dealing with all types of news activities. --MORE 11:05 LOCAL TIME 08:05 GMT تغريد
