Khoja opens SPA training center

Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, opened here Sunday Saudi Press Agency's Media Training Center. The center aims at improvement and development of media capacities in the areas of editing, photography, press coverage and interviewing.
Also, the minister launched the digital cameras photography facility enriched with 40 Nikon D3S.
The Nikon D3S is a 12.1 mega pixel professional-grade full frame (35mm) digital single-lens reflex camera DSLR.
It is a professional digital camera with high quality, accuracy and clarity, allowing the photographer's horizons of creativity and professional imaging of events and media coverage.
Abdullah Bin Fahd Al-Hussein, Director General of SPA, highlighted the minister's continuous support to his organization in various domains.
Al-Hussein underscored the importance of training of the personnel working in the press and technical domains for enabling them to acquire the required skills and knowledge as regards editing of news, photography and transmission and other relevant activities.
Through this center, he said, the SPA will train its personnel develop their skills in all departments. He said the that SPA was keen on organizing specialized training courses to improve the performance of its personnel and to diversify production.
Dr. Khoja said his ministry was keen on training all personnel in all sectors.
He said the media should take into account the significant progress being witnessed by the Kingdom. As such, he said, the media and cultural organs should set up comprehensive development programs.
The minister also urged the Saudi media to play its role at the Arab and international arenas.
Dr. Khoja said SPA's Information Training Center will shoulder its responsibility as regards training the cadres of the national news agency in line with the most advanced means in the field of media works. “I hope that this center will become a new addition to the agency, and will contribute to its development in all domains,” he said, underlining the important role being played by SPA at the domestic and international arenas.
He stressed the importance of training and development of skills through organization of specialized training courses.
