Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu today expressed deep concern about the situation of prisoners in Israeli jails, stressing that he is following the situation of prisoners on hunger strike closely, and stressed at the same time support for their legitimate demands. Prof. Ihsanoglu stressed the importance of the internationalization of the issue of the Palestinian prisoners in international forums and the dire need to expose the racist policies of the Israeli occupation and violations of human rights' principles and the Geneva Conventions. He demanded the international community to continue to put pressure on Israel to compel it to comply with the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law.
