An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale jolted Bengkulu Province, Sumatra Island, on Sunday at 11.05 am local time. The quake's epicenter was located at 5.12 degrees southern latitude and 103.07 degrees eastern longitude, ANTARA quoted the Bengkulu meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency as reporting here on Sunday. The tremor's epicenter was around 69 km southwest of Kaur, and at a depth of 15 km below sea level. The earthquake did not trigger a tsunami but local residents was shocked briefly when they felt the tremor, Linau Village Head Sirajudin said.
