Saudi newspapers' editorials focused today on the 3rd Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which concluded its two-day deliberations in Riyadh on Tuesday. Al-Yaum newspaper highlighted the importance of Riyadh summit and said that Arab countries need to work toward reaching a common market and without this reality and accomplishment, they will remain vulnerable for their weaknesses and shortcomings. It added that the economic strength is an essential requirement for openness on the prospects for the future and dealing on equal terms with major countries. Al-Riyadh newspaper also highlighted the importance of economy and said that everyone is aware that there are Arab countries undergoing change and suffer from economic and financial difficulties, but without being able to get rid of their political and economic regulations' legacy, the deficit will remain in place and we cannot say for sure that the aid and financial guarantees will save them unless they specify the tasks and legislation. It added that economy has been the main axis of the three earlier summits and that is a positive change, but the issue is not about aspirations, but about plans that take us out of the situation of the complications of poverty and unemployment. --MORE
