Saudi newspapers' editorials focused today on a number of local and regional issues. Most newspapers highlighted the importance of the 3rd Arab Economic and Social Development Summit which will be held in Riyadh later today. Al-Madinah newspaper said that the Riyadh economic summit is held amid many challenges, a fact confirmed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal on the eve of the summit who had said, "The Riyadh summit should be a conventional one." The newspaper said the current Arab situation makes the Riyadh gathering of the Arab leaders an economic summit with political characteristics, requiring greater responsibility and efforts in order to meet the new challenges facing the Arab nation.
