General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani today addressed the 33rd GCC Summit. He congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on chairing the summit, stressing his confidence in Bahrain's presidency to achieve the GCC goals. He paid tribute to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, for his efforts to promote the GCC cooperation and coordination in his capacity as president of the 32nd session. He hailed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as head of different ministerial committees which bolstered the GCC joint work. He also extended congratulations to the Saudi Ruling Family and people of Saudi Arabia on the successful surgery the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has recently undergone and his recovery and discharge from the hospital. “The 33rd GCC Summit is being held amid festivities marking the National Days of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and Qatar", Dr. Al-Zayani said. He hailed the success story of the GCC and its landmark achievements since its inception over thirty years ago. “The GCC has proved its clout and cohesion, withstanding fast regional and Arab political and economic changes and upheavals", Dr. Al-Zayani. He affirmed the ability of the GCC to stave off the attempts of some elements to tamper with its gains, stability, security and internal affairs.
